Mercedes-Benz, commonly known as Mercedes, is a German luxury car brand and manufacturer. The company was founded in 1926, but its origins come from Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft, a company that was founded 36 years before Mercedes-Benz. In 2018, Mercedes-Benz was the largest seller of luxury and premium cars in the world, having sold over 2 million passenger cars. The Mercedes logo is a distinctive silver circle with a three-pointed star in the middle, each point having a different meaning. These points signify land, sea, and air, environments that the company believed they would manage to dominate with their engines. Besides that, the Mercedes logo also stands for the company’s drive for universal motorization.
