Mountain Dew logos

Mountain Dew is a soda brand produced and owned by PepsiCo. The original flavour and formula was invented in 1940, but in 1958 they revised the formula. Between the 1940s and 1980s there was only one flavour, the citrus flavour. The brand expanded its offerings in 1988 when they introduced Diet Mountain Dew and Mountain Dew Red (discontinued in the same year). In 2001 they also introduced a cherry-flavoured variant named Mountain Dew Code Red. The Mountain Dew logo started off as a simple white wordmark on a green rectangular background. Throughout the years the Mountain Dew logo has gone through different iterations landing on the one we know today. A logo with sharp lines and edges and a two-colored frame. The wordmark now reads “MTN Dew”, and the shape of the whole logotype resembles a stylized lightning, giving it an energetic and powerful image.
