Oakland Athletics Elephant
The Oakland Athletics were founded in 1901 in Philadelphia, but they later relocated to Oakland in 1968. They managed to win 3 consecutive World Series championships in 1972, 1973, and 1974. Besides those 3 wins, they have won another 6 World Series championships and 15 AL Pennants. The Oakland Athletics logo has been based on one of two motifs: a capital “A” or an elephant. Their first logo was simply a bold, blue “A” and in 1920 they used the elephant motif for the first time. The current Oakland Athletics logo has ditched the elephant for a gothic-style “A’s” on a white circle. The “A’s” is colored in a dark green and has a yellow outline, all that being enclosed in a dark green frame with the wordmark “OAKLAND ATHLETICS” inside it.
